Planning Ahead for Your Wedding During Uncertainty

The effects of the global pandemic on weddings have been significant, but love and weddings are not cancelled! With the unexpected changes happening in the wedding world, we understand that this is an uncertain time for couples and their guests. Here are some things to continue to be mindful of when planning your big day.

Be Prepared

Prepare and plan for the potential that your wedding may be affected. It is important to stay informed through planning, starting with understanding the current wedding limitations. Being prepared means coming up with backup plan, we understand it is not ideal but be prepared for worst case scenario. While we are all hoping for the best, it’s good to plan for the worst and carefully think about all the “what ifs?”. The more you know about what is permitted, the more you will be able to make an informed decision on how to move forward with your wedding day plans.

Expect a Smaller Guest Count

Be aware of your guests’ plans, and understand if some guests choose not to attend the wedding. Also, be understanding that your guests list may have to decrease in numbers due to current restrictions. It’s important to be prepared to shrink the guest list while we are unsure what the restraints will be on gathering size. Social distancing protocols may also need to be adhered to.

Keep Your Guests Updated

Communication is key during these times especially guests. Put together a plan for communicating any changes to your wedding guests. You can give them information on how you plan to follow local protocols and keep everyone safe and healthy at your celebration!

Communicate with Vendors

We are in this with you and want to help you as much as we can! If you have questions or concerns regarding COVID-19, talk to your vendors about what your options are and how you can come up with a plan to make your wedding day super special.

In the end it’s important to be flexible. Every day things are changing, so having an open mindset is important. Continue to plan and prepare for your day, but realize that your day might look a little different than you originally planned. Wedding planning is already stressful enough on its own, but when you are planning during a global pandemic that takes the stress to a whole new level so take a deep breath and give yourself some credit. We believe couples will overcome the unexpected challenges while still being able to move forward and make the best out of their special day.
